Henderson Valley One Day Event

Well its finally here. My highlights from the Henderson Valley ODE. I spent a long time on this so I hope you enjoy!

PS. After watching this video over and over again I've realised I REALLY need to work on releasing over the jumps better lol

Your horse spends a lot of time evading the bit or bridle. I hope you have someone helping you with this. It looks to me like you guys could be a great team once you can get more commitment from your horse there.

Usually Reds fine and will come down on the bit easily. In the dressage particularly he was coughing and therefore could not keep his head down. Thanks for the comments

You can learn some much from watching you and your horse on video. That jump at the top of the cross country course looked like a duzie! Hoping his foot is back to normal soon so you can get back to work.

Oh it was! I almost fell off he did such a big jump. My friends were on the other side of the fence and gave me a lot of encouragement to sit back up and keep going which was great!

I would say your release was heading in the right direction but in the show jumping it looked like Red juts his nose out right as he gets over the fence. He gets pretty vertical as well and it can't be easy to maintain a nice release like that. He looks like he was a bit full of himself that day! Sometimes I wish my horse would get a bit full of himself versus his chronic stickiness.
